Sorry for the mth long hiatus... been busy with the new house/work/
been HELP-less for 1 wk plus after my previous helper returned to
Philippines after 4 yrs in Spore.
( UPDATES )
Recently, i had expressed interest in getting a new phone... i was still
deliberating btn a Samsung ( im quite a fan ) and the new Sony Ericsson
C905 ( aka the James Bond phone ). Due to my *ahem* influence, hubs
bot his 1st ever Samsung phone, the OMNIA, few mths back. He was all praise of its sound quality n cam, but somehow never got used to the phone
interface. He promptly sold it when he failed to convince me to use a PDA phone.
- Mood:
cheerful
What happens when one is married to guy who is siao-ON ( fanatical )
over PDA phones?
Ans: Play the role of a supportive spouse.
HOW?
Ans: Once the guy mentions tt the NEW phone will be launched soon,
do the following:
1) Call each of the 3 service providers, ask when will the new pdt
be launched. Leave yr contact with them.
2) Flip the papers industriously for adverts. Zero in on the particular
phone.
3) Once u spot tt phone, call the Service Provider n reserve 1 unit.
Collect it at yr chosen outlet.
4) Heave a sigh of relief in the knowledge tt Steps 1-3 will only be
repeated in 1-3 mths time.
We finally got rid of Omnia. Hubs isnt used to Samsung phones
afterall. Oh well. Called the hp guy who bought his previous HTC
Diamond. Was quoted an ok price. Hubs says as long as the amt
is higher than wat we paid for the phone ( regardless of trade-in ),
we wont loo gee ( his logic *sigh* ).
So...... its ByeBye Omnia after 1mth, and
( HARLOW TO? )
After mths of waiting, hubs is officially a PRO(ud) owner *hee*
ETA: REVIEW OF TOUCH PRO ON GSMARENA
Btw, hubs got his set fr Singtel. M1 hasnt launched it YET.
He also rec'd an 8GB mini-SD card. That really sweetened
the deal :)
After dinner @ Fish & Co Parkway ( im quite sick of the food here, we dine here like once twice weekly, cant help it since Missy likes the Fish&Chips there ), hubs quickly chiong Singtel as he was so eager to meet his latest fren..... For 'serial phone-players' like him, he had come to realise ( all thanks to his wifey *coughcough* LOL ) tt it doesnt pay to keep PDA phones lying ard since tech is always evolving n gadgets lose their worth along the way....
SO? his fave word now? TRADE-IN *heheheh*
This serial phone-player has 5 lines ( 2 with Singtel, 3 with M1 ) so tt he can tap into
them shd he gets sick of his current phone. He had already cut 1 line with M1 due to
my incessant nagging :P
Currently, his contract with Singtel is only into the 13 mth, so he got to top up $100
for his phone.... After he traded in his TyTn II ( the saleman raised an eyebrow when
he saw tt we're using this for trade-in ), he only had to pay $338 for HTC DIAMOND.
He was lamenting tt when he 1st started buying PDA phones, prices hovered ard
1K - 1.3K for each phone. Salesman told us tt if we drop by the IT show @ Suntec
it'll cost $140 cheaper there... the cons? travel all the way there, waste petrol,
wait eons for a parking lot, kena sandwiched like sardines?
The ans is clear *heheh*

This guys is nuts over PDA phones since i knew him in 2000. He started out with
Motorola's (dunno watcha call it PDA phone), then Treo ( he owned 3), then O2
( i think he had 3 ), Dopod ( i think he had 2 ) and NOW? its HTC all the way .....
Nah, he's not into Iphone despite the cool features n ultra attractive price...
he remains loyal to HTC....
He had used HTC's
TOUCH CRUISE:
http://eatshopbemerry.livejournal.com/11
TyTn II:
http://eatshopbemerry.livejournal.com/70
He also used Dopod's 838Pro and Cavalier ( b4 they were officially called HTC )

The lack of memory card slot doesnt bother him the least bit... he claims internal
memory ( 4GB in Diamond ) is more stable since he had damaged 2 cards since
then.

Guess what? this fella can tell me there's a newer version of DIAMOND which will be launched
in the near future.... so i questioned WHY DO U WANT TO BUY AN OLDER PDT THEN??
his reply? COS ITS NOT OUT YET....
HIS 2 CURRENT PHONES.....

He joked tt he's not used to carrying such a slim phone
I like this creative design, butthis phone sure is a 'FINGERPRINT MAGNET' *hahahah*

When i saw the pix above, i was wondering why are there so much dust on the phone?
I cleaned the phone again, n this was the same result. I asked Hubs abt this....
Labbit : OMG! does tt mean the room is ultra dusty?
Cow : Look again
Labbit : it IS dusty!!
Cow : No lah, what is the name of the phone?
Labbit : means what?
Cow : diamond dust!!
Labbit : Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Managed to capture 2 pix b4 my batt went flat....colours r more vivid IRL

1 minor gripe: This is a great machine, but it is zaps power like no
tomorrow, no wonder it came with a spare batt. But im really
wondering how long will hubs keep this phone *hahah*
I pity the CRUISE, cos it'll be next to go.....
I WAS REALLY IMPRESSED BY A GAME IN HTC DIAMOND ...
check out this link by Mr Matthew Miller ( watch his cool video )

The TOUCHFLO 3D is amazing!!
UPDATED 17 JUNE : Hubs is now awaiting the launch of TOUCH PRO and
Dear Hubby finally laid his hands on the TOUCH CRUISE. He's smiling like a goon.
Obviously. *roll eyes*
Unlike the TYTNII, Touch Cruise doesnt come with a Qwerty Keyboard.
in his own words: Who cares abt the Cam? ( HTC's cam CMI most of the time )
Def looks sleeker than TyTnII.
On the left: TOUCH CRUISE
On the right: TyTnII
On the left: TOUCH CRUISE
On the right: TyTnII
Actually, there isnt much difce btn the 2 in terms of thickness and size.
BUT.... according to the Cow, the Touch Cruise rec'd more raves than TyTn.
was telling him the incident abt HTC's drivers.... erm, our fren thinks its
ALRIGHT.... he's reallly loyal....
He has been into PDA Phones since i intro him to hp in 2000 ( at tt time, he
juz returned fr Ireland )... yup, he was so su ku then, he doesnt even know how
to use a hp... I, on the other hand, had been using hp since 1995 or 1996.
My parents got me an Ericsson 388 when i was in the uni.... at tt time, it cost
them 1K !!
Unbelievable rite? On average, i change my phone once a yr.
But hubs does it ard 3 xs a yr *roll eyes*
His 1st PDA phone was a Motorola, then followed by 3 Treos. By then, he had
jumped ship to O2... owning 3 phones by O2. Then then, he jumped ship
to Dopod ( HTC ). Funny thing is, he doesnt like the blackberry or the iphone.
Let's see how long the touch cruise will last him.
*EDITED*
2 Hp Cradles: 1 for TyTnII ( left ), 1 for Touch Cruise ( right )
He's not planning to trade in Tytn II yet... so he's been rotating btn these 2
Touch Cruise does sound like Tom Cruise ya? *LOL*
Last Sat, when we were @ Shangri-la, my hp ran out of batt as i forgot to cart
my charger along...... by Sunday morning, the batt went totally flat.... after we
checked out of the hotel, we proceeded to Marina Sq to meet up with my folks
and kiddo+helper.... he zipped into PLANET TRAVELLER while we were waiting for
our food to be served n emerged with...

He claims his primary aim was to buy me a hp charger... yet he cldnt resist buying the rest *roll eyes*
See the ENERGIZER gadget on the right of pix? Its so small, yet it is literally a 'mobile' hp charger!
i never knew Energizer made hp chargers, so i was v impressed by it.... this charger came with 3
wires ( for dif hp brands ), insert 2 AA sized batteries n u can charge up yr phone immediately!
AM I IMPRESSED OR WAT? i juz had to dump the charger n hp in my bag n b4 i knew it, it was
fully charged!!
When i saw the VICTORINOX 2MB thumbdrive, i was a lil taken aback... including this, he wld
hv a total of 3... and at $230 each, its not exactly cheap,.... I wanted to ask him WHY DOES HE
NEED SO MANY THUMBDRIVES.... but wat if he retorts me with WHY DO U NEED SO MANY
BAGS? at tt thought, i swallowed my words *LOL*
Hubs love to pop into this shop as and when to scour for new stuff.... this Energizer charger is
quite an unexpected find... :)
Few mths back, i did mention to Hippo tt im interested in THAT watch... we even
went to view it once....... but i resisted...... i had been thinking about it AGAIN
for the past 2 wks...... SO.............

Okie, i did a search on the phone just now. When i 1st heard of it fr hubs,
my 1st impression was tt it was a machiam ULU phone... but i never
tot it won some rave reviews...never expected it to be a much coveted
phone
Hubs had been eyeing this phone for weeks now.... n just last wk, he called
up M1 to check on it... but was told there was no announcemt for its launch
YET. He called again this morning, n was pleasantly surprised to hear tt
it had been launched!! he din waste any time... immediately reserved 1 set
@ M1 Paragon. After our lunch @ East Ocean Teochew restaurant, he
literally chiong-ed down to 'MEET' his new 'PAL'. *roll eyes*
DOPOD is now called HTC ... weird, cos i tot DOPOD sounds 'classier'
than HTC. later i found out fr
Dopod phones
This baby is hub's 3rd DOPOD...
1st Dopod phone : 838 Pro
2nd Dopod phone : C730 or the CAVALIER
3rd Dopod/HTC : TYTN II ( pronounced TITAN )
OKie, i DISLIKE this phone,,, cos 1) Heavier/BULKIER than C730.... 2) Why call it TYTN
when its supposed to be called TITAN? Itchy backside leh those HTC pple *LOL*
My U600 is 10.9mm... see? C730 is actualli quite Slim too for a PDA phone... oh well, i wun understand wat he's thinking...
N best part, i showed him my previous LJ entry to show him he onli used the phone for a few
mths nia!!
http://eatshopbemerry.livejournal.com/657

we got quite a gd deal as HTC is having a promo now... we get a CANON PIXMA
MP145 photo printer worth $179 FOC!!!
here's GSMARENA's review of the phone http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_tytn_ii-2024.p
finally got my hands on....
in Sapphire Blue
The cam comes with MACRO MODE!! *Woohoo*
MY slimmest phone yet...U600 is my 4th Samsung phone after E800, D600, D900. Erm, as u can see,
im nuts over SLider phones :P
OKie, the transition btn my previous 3 phones was a breeze.... but D900 and U600
are onli 1 generation apart, yet there has been some serious changes made...
Im really still not used to it.... for the rest of the phones, i got the hang of it within 1/2hr..
but this phone, i think i took abt 1full hr to fiddle with ( w/o referring to the manual )
the touch screen is sensitive, so ive got to be more light handed...
Ohhh, i love tt U600 has a very loud loudspeaker :P
Some other features stated on GSMARENA:
-2048x1536 pixels, autofocus, video(CIF), flash
- Java MIDP 2.0
- MP3/AAC/eACC/WMA player
- FM radio with RDS
- Yahoo search
- Organizer
- Business card recognition
- Document viewer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF)
- Voice memo
- Built-in handsfree
- TV out
Cant wait to test out the cam :)
My 2nd Cam... ive been spoilt by Hubs Vastcollection of digital cams all these while, so i dun see a nid to buy.... but recently, ive started to get 'serious' bt cams *LOL*
my 1st cam was the CASIO EXILIM S770.

MEET T1 and T100..... gosh, so many models have been launched since the T1.... but its built to last.. its still working fine till date

I love reds......cherry reds to be precise :P

OUR OLDER VAIOS.... the smallest one is being used by our kiddo... YES. HUBS SAYS MUZ TRAIN KIDDO HOW TO TYPE!

Hubs is a PDA phone lover. he changes phone btn 6 mths to 1 yr..... He was an O2 lover until he discovered DOPOD. his previous DOPOD was 838PRO... but now its replaced by THIS..... he cant stop gushing bt this phone *ROLL EYES*
