Cow has been lusting after the HTC HD2 since a mth ago...... He finally got his wish when
M1 ( lovely customer service ) had a soft launch @ M1 Paragon last wkend.
Xmas gifts fr M1... A cute ceramic mug and n spoon M1 was having a promo.... we got
3 mobile modems for abt the same subscription price as he's paying per mth for his lines,
so y not? If he had to incur additional costs, then i wld say NO.
HTC has 'downsized' their packaging.... v neat yet environmentally friendly*thumbs up*
HD2 cost $838 with the $28 plan/mth. He went for the $48 plan and M1 shaved $100 off the RRP.
He traded in HTC TOUCHPRO 2 for $400 and only had to top up $338 for his new baby.
My Samsung Omnia i8910 or HD on the left, his HD2 on the right.
They're bt the same height, but HD2 has a bigger screen than Omnia HD.
HD2 is considered VERY SLIM for a HTC phone. I lovethe matte cover... I dun think Cow intends to use the Invisible Shield on this phone...
As for HD2's screen, i dun think he nids a screen protector anyway.... Check THIS out
hubs suggested going to ION this evening to recce the place. Hmmm,
i told him the only store tt's open is LV... Dior isnt ( im eyeing
Lady Dior u see *hee* ). He said then let's go take a look at LV!
Parked at Wheelock as ION's car park isnt open to public yet.
Q'd for 20 mins ( yes, the SA at LV Edinburgh didnt believe me when
i told him we hv to Q to get in over here ). While we were in the Q,
hubby spied a bag.... coincidentally, we were both eyeing the same
bag..... when we finally got in, i asked to see IT ... and ALMA in
Silver or Pewter??
Alma was much cheaper than IT... but hubs said IT looked nicer on
me.... took 20 mins deliberating on my choice....

I wanted to give hubs a birthday treat and asked him to pick a place.
As he was tired fr all those calls, he picked somewhere v near :P
IMPERIAL TREASURE @ CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL
Its was supposed to be just the 2 of us + the kid....... but the kid had
to bring her 'entourage'
The waitresses + captains were really sweet. They kept her entertained
and when 1 of them saw her 3 'bodyguards' sharing a seat with her,
she promptly pulled another chair for kiddo to place them so tt she cld be
seated comfortably... This girl even covered blanket for them *roll eyes*
After we placed our orders for the usual dishes, the Captain asked if we
wanted to try their Soon Hock which juz arrived this morning. It was not
farm-bred and was air flown fr Vietnam....
Despite the hefty price ( $72 for this 900g dish ), i muz say the fish was
cooked to perfection.... the meat was al dente n fresh. Highly recommended!
I was surprised to see that thingie ( see arrow )... i've never been served
fish eggs with sac, tog with the steamed fish. To my delight, it tasted so
much like Foie Gras!!! OMG!! a new favourite!!
We were all well-stuffed and happy with our meal :) Oh, i did ask if he
wanted a bday cake ( kiddo was v excited when she heard the word
CAKE ), but nah, he said he's too old oledi *hahaha*
Finally got hubs off my back. The fella is deliriously happy with his latest

Recently, i had expressed interest in getting a new phone... i was still
deliberating btn a Samsung ( im quite a fan ) and the new Sony Ericsson
C905 ( aka the James Bond phone ). Due to my *ahem* influence, hubs
bot his 1st ever Samsung phone, the OMNIA, few mths back. He was all praise of its sound quality n cam, but somehow never got used to the phone
interface. He promptly sold it when he failed to convince me to use a PDA phone.

This guy is darn faithful to Sony Vaio ( im a Cybershot fan :P ). In btn Vaios, he did buy a Fujitsu mini laptop, but Vaio remains his 1st love......

1) Call each of the 3 service providers, ask when will the new pdt
be launched. Leave yr contact with them.
2) Flip the papers industriously for adverts. Zero in on the particular
phone.
3) Once u spot tt phone, call the Service Provider n reserve 1 unit.
Collect it at yr chosen outlet.
4) Heave a sigh of relief in the knowledge tt Steps 1-3 will only be
repeated in 1-3 mths time.
We finally got rid of Omnia. Hubs isnt used to Samsung phones
afterall. Oh well. Called the hp guy who bought his previous HTC
Diamond. Was quoted an ok price. Hubs says as long as the amt
is higher than wat we paid for the phone ( regardless of trade-in ),
we wont loo gee ( his logic *sigh* ).
So...... its ByeBye Omnia after 1mth, and

For 'serial phone-players' like him, he had come to realise ( all thanks to his wifey *coughcough* LOL ) tt it doesnt pay to keep PDA phones lying ard since tech is always evolving n gadgets lose their worth along the way....
SO? his fave word now? TRADE-IN *heheheh*
This serial phone-player has 5 lines ( 2 with Singtel, 3 with M1 ) so tt he can tap into
them shd he gets sick of his current phone. He had already cut 1 line with M1 due to
my incessant nagging :P
Currently, his contract with Singtel is only into the 13 mth, so he got to top up $100
for his phone.... After he traded in his TyTn II ( the saleman raised an eyebrow when
he saw tt we're using this for trade-in ), he only had to pay $338 for HTC DIAMOND.
He was lamenting tt when he 1st started buying PDA phones, prices hovered ard
1K - 1.3K for each phone. Salesman told us tt if we drop by the IT show @ Suntec
it'll cost $140 cheaper there... the cons? travel all the way there, waste petrol,
wait eons for a parking lot, kena sandwiched like sardines?

This guys is nuts over PDA phones since i knew him in 2000. He started out with
Motorola's (dunno watcha call it PDA phone), then Treo ( he owned 3), then O2
( i think he had 3 ), Dopod ( i think he had 2 ) and NOW? its HTC all the way .....

The lack of memory card slot doesnt bother him the least bit... he claims internal
memory ( 4GB in Diamond ) is more stable since he had damaged 2 cards since

jumped ship to O2... owning 3 phones by O2. Then then, he jumped ship
to Dopod ( HTC ). Funny thing is, he doesnt like the blackberry or the iphone.

See the ENERGIZER gadget on the right of pix? Its so small, yet it is literally a 'mobile' hp charger!
i never knew Energizer made hp chargers, so i was v impressed by it.... this charger came with 3
wires ( for dif hp brands ), insert 2 AA sized batteries n u can charge up yr phone immediately!
AM I IMPRESSED OR WAT? i juz had to dump the charger n hp in my bag n b4 i knew it, it was
fully charged!!
When i saw the VICTORINOX 2MB thumbdrive, i was a lil taken aback... including this, he wld
hv a total of 3... and at $230 each, its not exactly cheap,.... I wanted to ask him WHY DOES HE
NEED SO MANY THUMBDRIVES.... but wat if he retorts me with WHY DO U NEED SO MANY
BAGS? at tt thought, i swallowed my words *LOL*

THE BANES
In my previous post, I did mention abt the auto light sensors which will adjust its
beam according to ambient lighting conditions ard it.... it was ard 630pm when
we drove to Orchard.....
sky was still bright, so the headlights were not turned on.... however, when we
entered the car park, due to sudden dimness, camry's auto light sensor
immediately got to work, n the headlights came on suddenly! Of cos the car in
front buay song, thinking we flashed him for what... he stopped his car, hubs
stretched his hand out n did the 'sorry' gesture, after a short while,then the fella
in the front car slowly drove off...*phew* see? it almost got us into hot soup!
That aside, hubs is STILL very enamoured with his car ....
He asked me a qn which stumped me for a while ( but i still got the rite ans
eventually heheheh )...
Hubs : U din notice sth meh?
Wifey : Huh what? u oledi told me wat it is to know...
Hubs : Normally u can smell a 'new' car rite? how come u cant quite
'smell' this car?
Wifey : Normally can smell the leather seats lor... maybe Camry uses

Notice the windows look darker than usual? its bcos of the 3M Solar Protective Film...
when i stand outside the car, i cant really see who's inside tt clearly... hubs said he
purposely parked his car under then sun yesterday... n noticed tt the 3M Solar Film did
help to block the strong rays... the car wasnt hot at all even after being baked for few hrs..
This feature will warn front seat passengers tobuckle up. It will keep flashing till we buckle up.
See a vertical line running down the side mirror? thats for checking of blindspot.
I cant see anything dif fr the outside.. hubs said once the driver is seated, can
tell the difce...
A very spacious Boot... erm aka his mobile 'home'... see the white box in the pix? back seat passengers can actually open a hatch n grab things fr the boot via this opening :)
ETA: I juz discovered that the WIPERS have auto sensors too!! near the rear
view mirror ( on the outside ) there's this 'patch' of 'black dots'....
when 'sufficient rain drops' fall on this patch, it will trigger the wipers to
spring into action!! IMPRESSIVE!!
Hubs was rite, when he began to lose interest in the car, it suddenly turns
up :P
Initially, we tot the car will be delivered tomorrow... but who knows when he
came to pick me up juz now, this fella was driving his brand new BABY!
He really knows how to spring surprises hor *Hee*
okie, the real reason why he bot this blue instead of the popular greys/silver
is bcos the fengshui Master Lee says metallic blue wld b beneficial to him...
hey, hubs bot this car even b4 he passed his exams ( its realli a tough exam )
... so all the more he believes this guy :P
pls bear with me as i do some shameless raving abt this car ( since its an
upgrade fr our previous ALTIS ) *hehehehe*
The Blue IRL is much darker than wat u see in my pix,.... 
lots of legroom in front n at the back... really comfy i muz say.

only cost $70
Hubs rec'd a pleasant surprise ( which he din even know when he bot the car, or maybe he's just blur *LOL* )..... THIS BABY CAME WITH BLUETOOTH SPEAKERS!
he demonstrated juz now, n wow, v clear leh the sound!!! when we were in challenger
2 wks ago, he wanted to buy a BT set for the car.. it cost $400+... but i told him not to
waste money.... SO, he thanked me juz now for helping him save $ cos now, BT came
with the car!!!

Camry oso came with auto sensors...
At abt 7pm ( when the sky dimmed ), the surrounding lights of the CD player
were illuminated automatically.
There r two temp readings below: 1 for the temp in front, 1 for the back of the car
Even the headlights can be set to auto brightness.. ie light sensors can sense the
ambient lighting conditions n adjust the brightness accordingly. When u pull out the
ignition key, the light automatically shuts off... so u wun have a situation whereby u
forget to turn off the headlight when u leave the car n the battery runs out.
The screen within the speedo meter basically serves as a small comp screen which
allows u to:
1) check on the temp outside the car
2) check on the currrent amt of fuel left, n how far u can drive on this amt
3) know exactly which door is open
4) know the elapsed time... etc duration of journey
Also, the side mirrors came with a line running vertically ... sth to do with checking of
blindspots....
Hubs of cos is beaming today *ahahha* it was truly worth the wait according to him :P
ETA part 2: Hubs told me to try to sync my Hp with the car... but even after i had
tried searching for new devices, i still cldnt pair with Camry.... so we
concluded, the car only recog 1 phone lor.... im really impressed by the
clarity of sound... machiam surround stereo speakers :)
Even Thumper has his own seat!! but Monster insists that was Thumper's
TOILET *roll eyes*

The 3 adults n 1 kiddo had dinner at Surf n Turf juz now... the portions
look tiny, but in actual fact, i must say the dishes come in generous
portions...
Hubs had the Seafood Casserole while i had the seafood pasta. Kiddo had
the kids Fish n Chips. She loved it so much, she ate the whole thing! I
removed the batter b4 giving it to her.
We ordered 2 clam chowder soups/ 2 crab cakes/ 1 dessert to share
( portions r enuf for 3 actually! )
I didnt get to shop as Kiddo is with me. I normally focus on her when
Im out . ... Hubs bot a 4GB mini sd card for his DOPOD C730.
i was asking him why do u nid such a big storage capacity card...
he claims he takes videos of our girl/store songs, documents
so he was waiting for the card for a long time...
During lunch @ Pizza Hut today ( i ordered my fave Crayfish Pasta again ), Hubs suddenly told me he wishes to fly to Edinburgh to attend his Convocation Ceremony. Although he can choose to attend the Convocation locally... nothing beats going all the way there, to the prestigious institution ... [ at this pt, i REMINDED him
to double check if it can be done, cos this guy often relies on frd's hear say ]
In the morning, he surfed the RCSE website n showed me the exam results which had just been released online. THE LINGERING EUPHORIA HASNT SUBSIDED THE LEAST BIT SINCE TT DAY... In fact, seeing his serial number n the word ''PASS'' beside it, made the whole episode seem more concrete....
When we came home, we discussed our options. I reasoned that its expensive to travel all the way there juz to collect a scroll. His reasoning was, he sees it as an honour, to
collect his scroll fr the college itself, as well as to take the opp to tour Edinburgh..
AND AND AND..... he said maybe we may be successful in making Baby No 2 there!!

Passing this exam is juz a signal of more tough times ahead, n tt means

Its MCQ format on 14 subjects or disciplines.
He says he wants to amass more qualifications..... once he passes this USMLE,
he can work in the US or further his education there.

This exam is made up of 3 parts...
1) VIVA ( the original meaning--oral exam to defend yr
thesis )
2) CLINICAL EXAMINATION
3) COMMUNICATION SKILLS.
VIVA
On tues morning, when i woke up at 5am, he surprised me with,'' IM TAKING MY EXAM TODAY '' WAHHHHHH, i almost suffered a heart attack! so i had bathe/MU and rush out of the house so tt he wun be late for his exams .. registration starts at 815am.... throughout the day, i kept checking my hp for his calls or sms... nothing till almost 3pm.... then he called n said, '' I PASSED!!!!!!!! '' wah liew, i tell u..... i was
walking in a daze the whole tues morning/afternoon
till i rec'd his call...... He said tt ard 230pm, the
candidates were each given an envelope..... hubs said
if the envelope is a thin one, that means its an information sheet to tell u when/where to go for yr next round of exam.... if its a thick bulky envelope, it means
THANKYOU FOR YR TIME, GOOD LUCK NEXT TIME...
so when his name was called, our frd hearts really PEET PEET PORK PORK...... till he felt the envelope n it was THIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He passed his VIVA !!!!!!!
When he came home, of cos we were all v happy... but
when i asked him how come din tell me b4hand he was
taking the exam, his reply was, '' I was reading my books day in day out, u din notice meh? '' Erm, *ahem*
he reads alot, but all along i tot he was reading for knowledge onli mah....... his next exam was 3 days later, ie TODAY
CLINICAL EXAM & COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS
the tension mounted fr tues onwards... hubs wasnt
sleeping much at night... i can tell his fear..... i wld
if i were him..... cos he believes the examiners are
all out there to fail the candidates, so they muz be
overly prepared for it..... Anyway, he took his exam
in the morning, n by noon, he had come home. Results
will be announced at 430pm.... so he came at 410pm
to pick me up fr work as he wanted me to acc him to
the hosp...... while on the PIE, he rec'd a call...fr some1
fr the exam unit.... she said the results have been announced and that he's the LAST PERSON they're waiting for. PLus the ang mo examiners are in a hurry to leave..... hubs face turned pale.... but it took us another 15 mins to reach the hosp ground.... then we CANT FIND A PARKING LOT!
at the last car park, hiao hubs said OK, IF I CAN FIND A LOT NOW, I'll PASS MY EXAMS... at this point in time, i panicked.... cos the car park looks full!! u can call it pang tang but i realli wanted to slap him for saying such
bo liao things.... but as fate wld have it, THERE WAS A LOT THERE!!!....
we ran up to the block, n by the time we walked into the lounge area, i saw 2 ang mos staring at us.... n 2 ladies came up to talk to hubs... i din go in,
so i stood outside, near the lift landing... prayed n prayed.... oh well, it was a good 5 mins when i saw 2 ladies walking up to me, asking if i was waiting for anyone.... i said, '' IM WAITING FOR MY HUSBAND WHO'S COLLECTING HIS RESULTS. '' then she asked, ' OH, YOU'RE DR ____'S WIFE??? HE PASSED! AND THEY'RE NOW IN THE LOUNGE
CELEBRATING! '' at this moment, 1 ang mo guy
walked out.... this kind lady told him tt hubs is inside as he has passed, n im his wife. she asked if wives are allowed into the lounge... this kind sir smiled n said WHY NOT? IM SURE THEY'LL WANT TO JOIN IN THE
CELEBRATION. i thanked the Prof and walked in... wah liew... i saw a group of pple toasting... i felt abit weird standing in a corner, so i walked out n called in laws n my parents... of cos they were elated...
5 mins later, hubs came out... n show me the envelope.... Oh did i mention tears rolled down my eyes
when the lady fr the exam unit told me he passed? i was
so emotional neh!!!
WHAT WAS AT STAKE...
1) 5 K ( the exams fees n courses he took )
2) this is the LAST YR this exam wld b held in Spore.
If he fails, he wld have to go to Edinburgh next yr
to retake.
3) n not to mention, his self esteem

forward to.... that is to take possession of his CAMRY :)
I think he was quite confident of this exam, so he bot the
CAMRY 2 wks earlier as a form of encouragement :P
To me, this is the best Wedding Anni pressie ever!

What a week.... many heart stopping moments.. i think my BP shot up alot liao..... during the night, ive got a massive headache... think its the sudden tension plus sudden release of tention tt caused it...

book exam dates in dif ctries in case they dun make it
the 1st round here .... in fact, he rec'd a mass email fr
a colleague asking if anyone had double booked another
slot....this doc said he is thinking of trying for the exams
to be held in OMAN in Jan 2008.... i asked hubs if he
double booked.... he said no as he felt he's ready as
he waited for a few yrs to gain experience at dif depts.
He thinks these dif exposure has def helped him heaps.
Hubs came back, beaming away.... i din open my mouth... instead he started rattling
abt the test drive, the gd deal he got @ TOYOTA, then claimed today was the 1st
day of their promo, so he got some freebies thrown in and YYY ( yadah yadah yadah).

He said he was deliberating btn PICNIC or CAMRY... but salesperson said the steering of PICNIC not so gd ( wahliew, sales person can say such things 1 meh? )... our frd oso GONG, easily swayed. Then the person recc him CAMRY by asking him to go for test drive, n our frd decided on the spot he wanted it ( he shops fast juz like me! )
Mr Mica Blue Camry will be hubs 4th car since he returned fr Ireland. He has driven
Toyota Corolla, Ford Focus, Toyota Altis. It isnt hard to see tt he's a TOYOTA fan
hor :P He was raving abt how luxurious the camry was... HELLO??!!??? its close
to 100k neh, i quite sim tieh actualli. My rationale is a car is a car, functional can liao.
Hubs has always missed the open/close boot remote control function in his ford
focus... n thankfully, Camry has it... plus Camry doesnt have a hand brake. Instead,
it comes with a foot brake.
SUNDAY MORNING
after brekkie at 132 Mee, hubs suggested we pop down to the showroom so tt he
can show me the car...

Saw the plush interior n muz say im beg to fall in love with it!
Toyota threw in a 1K 3M solar film and I was admiring the 'wing-like' bodykit
structure tt was perched on top of the boot... i tot it looked smart... hubs says
the new car will have tt fitted in as well :)
Why din he bring me along to view the car yest? cos i'll NAG on the spot, n

Hubs is a PDA phone lover. he changes phone btn 6 mths to 1 yr..... He was an O2 lover until he discovered DOPOD. his previous DOPOD was 838PRO... but now its replaced by THIS..... he cant stop gushing bt this phone *ROLL EYES*
