Oh snap!  This has been a BUSY work week packed with tons of time in the field, at the office, and paperwork at home.  I have mental health agencies calling me trying to get me to place these 2 new clients and I am rushing it as fast as I can.  But the good thing is that all of my face to face visits are done for the month except these 2 new clients so I can devote more time to them next week.  Luckily Medicaid gave me a lightening fast turn around time for getting them on my program so I can make a fast placement.  I am covering 2 extra brain injury cases on top of the 23 I already doing.  Which isn't a huge caseload (25 total) but considering most of them suck and are time consuming.... yeah it's tough.  I will make it.  I keep telling myself it's only temporary.

We've had only a few lookers on the house.  no offers.  I really hope someone falls in love with it sooner rather than later.  Sigh.  I can't wait to sell this place, quit this job, and move to my fabulous new house and start my new job.  I still can't believe how lucky we are to have this new house.  It's even better than any dream house I've ever imagined I could own.  I can't wait to share it with friends and family.  My parents enjoyed their weekend in their guest room in my new house and they are impressed as well.  I can't wait til spring when we can open the pool up for the season!  Oh my how fun will it be?  When I think of our new home, I just get a huge smile on my face!  I can't ever take the place for granted because it is seriously freaking fabulous!  I will get so spoiled I will never be able to live in a modest house again!

Bangkok trip

Flew to Bangkok by Air Asia.
I was such a mountain turtle cos this is my first time traveling by this kinda airline.
I just can't believe that its so small and the seats are sooooo cramp.
I can't sit properly, I can't attempt to take a nap properly.
The windows are not clean as well. It's got some blurry stain like those stains you see on buses.

Once I got out of the airport I spotted a pink cab and I insisted on taking that cab,
until I realise in BBK, most of the cabs are pink in color!!! yay!!

Here I am waiting to check in to the hotel.

Readers had warned me about the construction works going on near the hotel.
In fact, its RIGHT outside the hotel old wing!!
I emailed them and in order to stay in the new wing, gotta top up 700baht per night for a room
upgrade but we found it unccessary. Guess what?
They did a free room upgrade!!! The room was much bigger then the room I booked!

There was also a lot of negative feedback about the shower water temperature unstable,
either very cold or very cold but there was no problem at all.
There's even a bath tub though feed backs mention that no tub!

Location is EXCELLENT. 30 steps from Chong Nonsi BTS( their MRT station)
and 20 steps from Mac Donalds, 7-11 and street stalls, and 3 stations from Siam!

Oh it's also about 4 steps away from Heritage Bangkok, which is one of the options I considered!

I decided not to be such a wimp about dirty food.
Tried this and its AWESOME. 20cents for a stick of BBQ chicken. Damn delicious!!!!!

First night's dinner was at this famous place, Oishi Grand at Siam Discovery.
Japanese buffet for SGD$35+ per person. Super yummy!!!
The garlic otopus!! The fresh prawnssss and mussels! The steam fish!! The desserts!!!

The hotel's breakfast area was indoor, non air conditioned.
It's very refreshing to be out of the cold room for some breakfast! Every morning was rather breezy too.
The food ain great but edible.
Lucky they don't serve delicious eggs. If not I would have grown very fat like the previous stay at Twin Towers.

Basically, we went to all the usual places that every one should go, like the Erawan Shrine,

combed through the whole of Siam TWICE, MBK ( which is a waste of my time besides buying bra)...

gone not so crazy anymore at their huge F21 at Central World cos now we have a huge F21 too at 313!!

And...Swensens!!! So cheap and ain this outlet so pretty!!

Some of other stuff we had...

The one thing EVERY GIRL MUST DO in Bangkok.
If you don't do it, totally its a wasted trip. And totally depriving yourself. Ok unless you're not a manicure person.
My fingers are still fully functional like eating crackers, tearing wrappers and what not. Only problem is, its not hair washing friendly. haha! It doesn't hurt, does not have a tight feeling. Felt totally like my own nails!! So glad for stepping into the right shop! Full pedicure + nail art extension for 900baht. That's like SGD$40?

Caught the 11a.m flight back on Sunday and left the hotel early to shop at the airport.

I was DAMN close to buying the yellow Fendi handbag!!! Had my eye on it for awhile!

Looked at the clouds to distract myself from the uncomfortable cramp seats.

Pretty!

Actually I shopped very little.
The clothes there are pretty much what you'll find on TW sprees and blogshops.

Everyone love to see what others bought from their trip right? So here's mine to share!
Let's take a closer look!

The studded bag and the small bag would be gifts for my friends!
Footwear would be one of the best deals... the 2 pairs of sandals and flats cost me only 400baht!

Got this really cute handmade carpet from Suan Lam night market!
I looked through all the stores at MBK hp section and can't find a pretty leopard print casing.
And every other stores are selling bling-ed design hp case!!!
Pretty but the crystals looks big and the cut is not delicate and shiny=(
So I found a store that sold the Ed Hardy design!
Obviously it not the authentic Ed Hardy, but there's only one shop selling this design
and it's good enough to protect my new toy till I get a better one! Prolly getting a Sumanjin red leather case!

I can't remember who told me that there's this face powder in Thailand that is damn good in oil control.
SG has an alternative from Silky White call Magic Face Powder.
So I went and I found it! Ponds Magic Powder. Got a bottle and try it.
From 9a.m to 11p.m, I didn't need to blot! So I went back the next day to get 3 more bottles haha
Oh anyone love Morgan's lingerie as well? So pretty!

Last but not least, most important items topping my MUST BUY list.
1. Alcohol of course. Got Absolut Pear and Bols lychee liqueur
2. Gifts for my friends!!!

That pretty sum up my trip there and today is the final day of my leave.
Will be back to work tomorrow and I'm sure there's a shit load of work to be done.
Somehow looking forward to drown myself in work just like what I did in October.

Home made goods of the past few weeks. I took my parents out to dinner at Texas Road house and dad let me take home his leftover steak.  I sliced it into little pieces and put it in a grilled steak and cheese sammich.  Delicious!! Vegas Sunday.

I slept in til around 8:30 or so. My hair was a grease pit so I hopped in the shower to wash it. The shower pressure was terrible in this hotel and the provided shampoo was cheap so I had to use the entire little squirt tube of it. Good thing they replenished the supply daily so mom would have some for her shower.

Mom & I went to the Rio's buffet, the Carnival World Buffet for breakfast/brunch. I kept my portions low because I can't eat tons early in the day. But it was HUGE and wonderful. They had plenty of shrimp cocktail which I love. they had crab legs, too but I didn't have any- too much of a pain to crack open. I tried 3 of their desserts which were lovely.

Then, we went to Bellagio to view the indoor garden. We enjoyed going through the "Garden Store" right next to the indoor garden. Mom wanted to gamble so we sat and played video poker for a while. Then, lunch at Yokohama Kaigenro again, where mom had her usual vegetable ramen and I had a bento box this time with tempura and grilled salmon. I enjoyed it a TON.

Then, we went back to the Rio hotel and gambled even more, this time on these video poker machines which were situated around a tall stage where "Bevertainers" would occasionally climb up there and either sing songs or dance. One guy was "Alejandro", very attractive guy who would sing up there and then get down and serve drinks to the gamblers. Good times.

Then, we decided to go to this Korean BBQ and Tofy house along the strip mall on Spring Mountain Rd which I had seen and told mom I wanted to try. She wanted to try it, too. We are sure glad we tried it because it was all very delicious and fun! The table had a gas griddle installed into the middle of it. You order the meat of our choice and grill right in front of you fresh! It came with bowls of rice, popped rice tea mom loves, and tons of types of kim chee, little dishes of veges, sauces, and some potato salad. We intend to go back again next time. We loved it!

Back to the hotel and getting ready for bed.

loooong break!

Sunday was lunch with Leon with the usual very yummy pancakes and fish pesto pasta!
He had the honey nut ice cream which taste soooo good!!! I'm so gonna have that the next time!

After that met with with Y to watch Couples Retreat!
Had 4 hours to kill and EVERYWHERE is just too crowded.
Totally worsen the situation when I have the huge Crabtree paper bag containing gifts.
So, we took the escalators in Orchard Central and see where it lead us!

Seriously, I didn't know the roof top garden is complete already! haha
An hour was spent walking around slowly, taking photos, feeling the wind throwing my hair in all directions!
We realised that there are xmas lighting all over the greenery! It must look very pretty at night!

Early xmas present from Dr Tan! I have to say, these are SUPER DELICIOUS!!!!!

I've been a long battle with myself for 2 weeks.
The question a lot of people might also be asking themselves.
iPhone or BBB !

And finally, I choose iPhone, 16GB in white!!!

NO REGRETS AT ALL. I love the interface and apps too much!!!! It's so much fun and smooooth!!!
I can't stop tap tapping tap tapping on my phone!

However, it's pretty handicap in a lot of ways. One major problem is battery life.
I don't think I can sail through a day without charging it.
With a full charge at 8a.m yesterday, the battery left 20% by 12p.m.
Its weak and with my intensive usage, this is gonna be one of the biggest problem of this phone =(

This also means that I can't stop playing with it hahha

Final thing to do, is to hunt for the perfect case to pimp my phone.
I'm not returning to SG unless I can find the perfect leopard print casing!!!
Imagine it with dark brown leopard prints crystal case. OMG.

Well, tomorrow will be my trip to Bangkok!!!
Pretty excited to check out the land of smiles and SUN after 5 years!!
I'm coming to raid you, Siam. Be ready for me !

Vegas!

So, Fri morning, mom came over early, and it's a good thing I set my alarm half hour earlier than I planned accidentally or else I wouldn't have been ready. It was a busy week so I saved most of my packing for that morning. Mom & I got on the road in her yellow Nissan Xterra by 9 AM. We made a few potty and gas stops, including St George. The weather was dry all the way which we were appreciative of. Traffic was smooth sailing and we arrived by about 2:30. We went straight to Sunville Bakery, a stop we knew we wanted to make. We picked up a bunch of baked goodies (Asian style) and then went to our fave Japanese restaurant, Yokohama Kaigenro. We love this place! One of the Japanese sushi chefs at Nobu in Hard Rock suggested it to us years ago and we tried it and loved it. Mom loves their vegetable ramen and I love several items. Though their sushi is so so. The place is right accross the street to the South of Hard Rock and I am surprised it's not busier considering its close location to Hard Rock. It's in a strip mall behind a liquor mart. The place was really very divey and there were always lots of limos in the parking lot. But now they've remodeled that whole corner and it looks a lot newer and nicer. Most of the shops in the strip mall actually are closed now so we were thrilled that Kaigenro was still open. I got gyoza and croquette. Then, we went to the Rio to check into our room. Mom had gotten some mailed coupons for free rooms so we have 3 free nights.

The room is decent. It's nicely decorated and roomy. But the tub is a standard which is somewhat disappointing. But it's clean and nice. I guess I am just spoiled by all the high roller suites I've stayed in but this is very lovely. We decided to go see the Matsuri show at the Imperial Palace that evening. So, we got ourselves ready and dressed and drove over there. The parking situation is kinda iffy and you have to walk through shady areas but we made it fine. Mom had a buy 1 get 1 free coupon also and it was $74 or so for the 2 tix. The show was different from what Mom expected but it was about what I expected. It was good! We got a photo with 2 cast members afterwards. Then, we headed back to Rio. I bought myself a gorgeous rinestone flower ponytail holder from a shop along the way.

We were hungry again so we ate at the American Cafe in Rio, the only place open that time of night. I had chicken strips and mom had potato cheese soup. Then, up to the room, getting ready for bed, and nighty night! All in all, a busy and good day!
